There are 3 main flower forms
The hellebore flower comprises 5 sepals (often referred to as petals). Bracts surround the flower and appear like mini leaves. The male anthers produce pollen before the female stigma is ripe so as to promote out breeding.
The true leaves are produced after the flower emerges and originate from a separate bud on the rhizome.
